Stanley Park is British Columbia’s largest urban park, attracting over eight million visitors each year. Legends of the Moon is a busy souvenir retail store that receives a sizable percentage of these visitors in the summer. Operating since 2001, our core selection of Canadian-made items centers on First Nations' arts and crafts, but we also carry a wide selection of Canadian memorabilia and gifts. In addition, we also operate a small, but busy café that offers specialty coffees, snacks, desserts, and pre-packaged foods.

We are looking for seasonal staff who are energetic, positive, patient, self-motivated, detailed, and have excellent interpersonal skills. Applicants should be able to solve problems on the fly, and excel in a very fast-paced, varied environment.

Due to the nature of our business, we favour applicants with open availability and free on weekends. Staff schedule has a tendency to be consistent, released a month at a time, and we are generally able to keep days off together.

Responsibilities:

Expected Starting Wage:

All staff members are responsible for various retail operations: sales (non-commission), cashiering, restocking, merchandising, food/beverage operation, cash handling, and housekeeping.

$14.50/h starting wage.

Secondary education and retail experience an asset; familiarity with Vancouver's various destinations and its tourism industry is a plus.

  • Fluent in English is REQUIRED.
  • Second language proficiency in French or Spanish is a bonus though not required.

 

 

Shifts and training start right away. Candidates can expect 32-40h/week right away and through the summer.

This is a seasonal position, our season usually end sometime around October, but it's common to have part-time shifts until November.

Hours of operation during peak summer months are from 8am to 8pm. Candidates should feel comfortable and available working mornings as well as evenings.

Our store is not always easy to find if you're not familiar with Stanley Park, so please make sure you know where we are on the map, and consider your method of commute accordingly. (pdf map)

Public transit: #19 Bus - Stanley Park. Walk another 15 minutes from the central bus loop. (Translink Website)

Bicycle or walk: Great method if you live in downtown. 25 minutes walk from Denman/Georgia.

Car: We will cover the cost of parking.
